La Luz de las Noches

This December, Santa Fe Botanical Garden opens its gates after dark for La Luz de las Noches, a winter tradition where thousands of twinkling lights, glowing farolitos, and the warm flicker of real wood fire pits transform the Garden into an inspirational gathering place for the whole community.

Wander through beautifully lit, themed vignettes tucked throughout the Garden and follow the sound of music as performers and carolers fill the cold night air with festive spirit. Warm up with seasonal food and drinks along the way. On select nights, Santa and Mrs. Claus join the celebration, adding extra magic.

All Aboard!

New this year, the La Luz Express, a g-scale model train, winds through the Garden’s twinkling landscape, while activity stations bring family-favorite traditions to life with s’mores by the fire, cookie decorating, and festive games.

Whether you’re bringing the whole family, gathering with friends, or sharing a cozy date under the lights, La Luz de las Noches is the season’s most magical way to celebrate light, community, and nature under the New Mexico sky.

THANK YOU for supporting Santa Fe Botanical Garden with your purchase of a La Luz de las Noches ticket! We are delighted you want to spend your holiday with us. Please take a moment to review our FAQ page to ensure you have a wonderful visit to the Garden. 

New this year: timed tickets. This year for the first time La Luz tickets have an entry time listed. Please arrive at the time and date listed on your ticket, however you may stay as long as you like until the evening events are over and the garden closes.

It will be cold at night, so please bundle up and wear appropriate sturdy footwear suitable for garden paths! Several warming stations, including fire pits and heaters will be stationed around the Garden.

If the weather turns and we have to cancel an evening, we will notify all ticket purchasers via email no later than 2:00pm the day of the event. We cannot offer refunds for cancellations, but you may use your ticket for another night.

We ask that you kindly dispose of all trash before you leave. There are many trash receptacles throughout the Garden and three recycle bins.

No pets please, even in carriers or backpacks. Only ADA-qualified service animals are allowed.

Firearms are not permitted on the property.

Please refrain from smoking or vaping in the Garden.

Parking is available both in the Garden parking lot and across the street at the Museum Hill parking lot. Greeters will be onsite to help guide you to the next available spot. Both lots close at 8:00pm.

Please have your tickets printed or downloaded on your phone to show greeters when you arrive.

Most of the Garden pathways are ADA-accessible. They are made of crusher fines (crushed stone and compacted earth) and will be cleared, but may be soft or muddy due to weather. While our fantastic volunteers will have flashlights to help guide the way, it gets very dark after sunset. Please wear appropriate shoes and be mindful of your steps.

ADA parking spaces are available both in the Garden parking lot and across the street at the Museum Hill parking lot. Volunteers are available to guide you to the right location.

ADA-accessible restrooms are available onsite. Volunteers can show you the way.

There will be hearty food options, warm drinks, alcoholic beverages, and snacks available for purchase throughout the Garden. Vendors include:

  • Beverages: As Above, So Below. Odd Box Coffee
  • Food: Laura Nunez Catering
  • Interactive Snacks: Cookie Decorating & S’mores and marshmallows for roasting will be available for sale in the garden. A volunteer can direct you.

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. In the event of heavy rain or snow, we will cancel that evening’s event and notify attendees via email by 2:00pm. Your ticket will be transferable to any following night.
