The first trees were planted last week in the Orchard Gardens and they looked great! This week we decided to take height measurements so we can track their growth over the coming years. Tracy Neal, our resourceful horticulturalist, once again saved the day and brought a height pole that could measure to the inch. Can you take a guess at how tall these two trees are in the photos below? (Answers are below at the end of the post)
The first tree is a ‘Indian Magic’ crabapple and was 10 feet tall! The second tree set the record- it is a ‘Emerald Sunshine’ elm and measured 17 feet and 6 inches!
We are looking forward to seeing these great trees grow and grow!
