As Earth’s ecosystems change in response to climate change and other human impacts, species and communities are being rapidly reorganized across the landscpe. Adapting to future conditions may involve focusing on resilience rather than strict restoration to historical conditions. We explore what this might look like, and what the implications are for nature conservation.
