The new David Salman Tribute Garden (DSTG), planted in 2024, is starting to wake up after its winter sleep. Aside from a few rodent incursions over the last few months, the plants and garden are looking wonderful. Recent rains have led to wonderful green growth in the DSTG and everywhere in the SFBG gardens!

For the Love of Plants

DSTG designer Lauren Springer delighted the audience on May 3rd with a wonderful slide presentation and talk including reminiscences about David Salman, information about the plants he championed, and pictures of her own design work with plants.

Lauren, knowing plants as she does, assumed we might have some losses in the new plantings so on her trip down from Ft. Collins she brought us a few flats of new plants to supplement those planted last fall. Horticulture staff Linda Churchill and Noah Gapsis have been busy planting while Cristina Salvador and volunteer Sylvan Kauffman work on new ways to sign plants in the new garden.
