Due to an initiative by the Garden Club of America and the Santa Fe Garden Club, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a Proclamation that April 2025 is “New Mexico Native Plant Month”.

Once established, many native plants require little maintenance because they have adapted to their environment, soils, and water. They also support our native bees, butterflies, birds, and pollinators.
