Sunset Concert Series with Levi Platero
Levi Platero is a blues guitarist and songwriter whose music blends cultural pride, soulful expression, and fiery guitar work. A self-taught player from the age of nine, his early influences include the three Kings—B.B., Albert, and Freddie—as well as Stevie Ray Vaughan. That foundation shaped a style rooted in tradition but alive with modern energy. A member of the Navajo Nation, Platero grew up on the Gospel music circuit, drawing from a wide range of sounds. His music reflects this fusion, marrying gospel, blues, and rock into a singular voice. Platero first emerged with his family band, The Plateros, in 2004. Their blues-rock power trio earned comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, and Los Lonely Boys. After nearly a decade of touring and a stint with the Native rock band Indigenous, Levi returned to his solo career, ready to define his own sound. With roots deep in culture and blues tradition, Levi Platero continues to carve out a sound entirely his own.
