DESCRIPTION:Advance Registration Required \nStep into the Santa Fe landscape with a sketchbook in one hand and a thoughtfully limited watercolor palette in the other. In this beginner-friendly plein air journaling class\, participants will learn to capture manageable Southwest scenes\, from adobe walls and entryways to ristras and garden gates\, while recording color mixes\, light\, and perspective notes that can later blossom into finished studio pieces. Guided by award-winning artist Antonio Darden\, this course weaves color theory\, value study\, and one- and two-point perspective into a creative practice that’s equal parts travel diary and work of art. 🎨🌵 \nThis class will cover\, color theory\, value study and one-point and two-point perspective. This class is for beginners to intermediate\, even if you haven’t painted before you will really enjoy this class. \nAbout the Artist: \nAntonio Darden is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society\, National Watercolor Society\, Western Federation Watercolor Society\, Watercolor Society of Alabama and New Mexico Watercolor Society. Antonio is an avid plein air and Studio painter\, building on the foundations of composition\, value and local color and continuing to experiment and hone his personal style. Enjoy an evening of celestial wonders as we gaze at the planets and stars. \nYou can learn to navigate the stars with telescopes and planispheres. (You’ll have an opportunity to make your own planisphere to take home.) Whether you’re an experienced stargazer or just curious about the cosmos\, join us for our monthly nighttime Stargazing series. \nBefore you arrive\, download your preferred star map to your smart phone. (Examples: Stellarium\, Sky Tonight\, Star Tracker\, etc.)  \n\n\nAbout Santa Fe Stargazers: \n\n\nThe Stargazers are a group of Santa Fe area residents who share a passion for observing the day and night sky\, be it by naked eye\, binocular\, or telescope. DESCRIPTION:Advance Registration Recommended \nJoin Dr. Marcy for a restorative mindfulness experience that combines forest bathing with a guided cacao tasting. Through mindful walking\, sensory awareness\, and quiet reflection\, participants will deepen their connection to nature while cultivating a sense of quiet reflection. \nThe experience concludes with a ceremonial cacao tasting. Derived from the seeds of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao)\, cacao offers a unique botanical connection between plants\, culture\, and well-being. Long valued by Indigenous cultures of Central and South America\, cacao invites participants to reflect on the many ways plants enrich our lives. \nAbout the instructor: \nDr. Marcy B. Newman\, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)\, has certifications in iRest Yoga Nidra\, Caritas Coach\, Nurse Coach\, and was a VA nurse for over 10 years (mainly doing employee well-being and health promotion).
